Each year, in the same vein, Karna, LLC champions one employee who aces business objectives with precision and integrity as the On Target Award winner. Until an awardee is named, the Karna team would like to highlight the following nominees for exceptional work in the past year.

Jennie Cheng, PHD, Epidemiologist/ Data Analyst

Dr. Jennie Cheng is an epidemiologist serving as a scientific/technical consultant for Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Her experience spans from the design and implementation of health programs and health survey, to observational epidemiologic research/studies of infectious and chronic diseases, including HIV/AIDS, Cardiovascular diseases, and Ocular diseases.

Cassandra Malone, MPH, Project Manager

Cassandra Malone, MPH, has more than 20 years’ of experience translating federally-funded health, quality improvement and technical assistance programs to local communities. Igniting her public health career supporting suicide prevention and mental health service policy issues, Malone has worked with the State of Georgia HIV/AIDS Integration of Peers and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, among other government organizations.

Emily Pedrozo, Senior Business Analyst

Emily Pedrozo ignited her public health career at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) before continuing federal health work at the Department of Labor and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). At Karna, Pedrozo supports the World Trade Center Health Program as the Provider Services Lead, where she offers her expertise in program operations analysis, and business process development and documentation.

Selina Robinson, Claims Operations Manager

Selina Robinson has more than 25 years experience and proudly served in the United States Air Force. At Karna, Robinson manages a team that is accountable for the adjudication of medical monitoring and treatment claims for responders and survivors, who were impacted by the 911 Incident.

Keri Van Fleteren, Sr. Manager of Talent & Performance

Keri Van Fleteren has worked in Human Re-sources for 17 years, beginning at a natural foods co-op as a bi-lingual (English-Spanish) HR assistant. Over time, Van Fleteren has mastered all facets of HR from Benefits and International HR to recruiting and consulting (both government and commercial.)

Janakinath Vedula, Medical Coder

Janakinath Vedula has been a medical coder for more than 18 years. Vedula obtained my CPC Certification from AAPC since 2016.

Atlanta, GA native, Lawander White, specializes in finance with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Mercer Universi-ty. She began as an auditor with the Georgia State Office of Audits be-fore joining finance teams at American Red Cross, C.A.R.E and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, among others.

Sid Yadav, IT Technician

Sid Yadav has a degree in Music and Business Psychology with work experience in workflow management and operations. At Karna, Yadav is an IT Technician who specializes in researching and implementing new software for the company.
